THE ACTIVIST

Open call for articles

2016

Human RightS Initiative is pleased to announce a call for articles for the 13th issue of The Activist, HRSI’s Human Rights Journal. The Activist is an annual student-led journal aimed at providing CEU students a platform for publishing their work related to human rights as well as the opportunity to gain experience in editing a professional journal.

Students from all departments are welcome and encouraged to contribute to The Activist, through the submission of an article/photographs.

If you are interested in getting published in the upcoming issue, please, let us know by Wednesday, January 27th, midnight. Please, include in the email the title and a short abstract of the article/a short description of the photograph you'd like to submit for the journal.

Please, keep in mind that we expect contributors to send us the whole articles later; the selected contributors will be announced separately about the deadline for submitting the full article. Articles for The Activist are usually short, up to 900 words. The Activist is not an academic journal per se, so feel free to send us proposals for the opinion-style pieces as well. However, the proper citation should apply in all cases. This year some articles are going to be highlighted as "Editors' pick" representing exemplary contributions in terms of content and language.

Submissions should deal with human rights extending to the following topics:

Environment and Human Rights

Gender and Human Rights

Arts and Human Rights

Health and Human Rights

Human Rights in Policy

Ethics and Human Rights

Current Affairs

Photographs should be on the topic of human rights. They should be original and of high (printable) resolution.
